Today we're taking a break from wedding and party invitations and stationery, to bring you this super sweet and very easy DIY party hat tutorial. Nothing says 'celebration' like a good old party hat, and these ones are a twist on the traditional - the perfect touch for adding a dash of extra charm to any kids party, baby shower or other children's celebration. You could also make some for the little ones attending your wedding to get them party mood!
Thanks to Emma at Devon based wedding company Freckle Photography for these great pictures.
Using pretty paper cups, these party hats are SO easy to make and will add an extra special finishing touch to your celebration, be it a wedding, party or other occasion.
You'll need some paper cups (available in lots of themes & designs online or in the partyware section of any supermarket), some mini pom poms from your local craft store, a craft knife if you have one, otherwise scissors will do! You'll also need to have to hand: scissors, some ribbon or elastic and a hot glue gun (or other strong glue).
Next, snip triangles all around what will be the top of your party hat.
Using your glue gun or other strong glue, stick on your mini pom poms.
Make small slits with your craft knife on either side of the base of your hat, and thread your ribbon or elastic through, tying it in a knot.
Next stop, party party party!
I hope you've enjoyed this tutorial and happy crafting...
