Agents party as HIP HIP Hooray announce prices

Agents party as HIP HIP Hooray announce prices Leading Home Information Pack provider HIP HIP Hooray gave Estate Agents cause to celebrate at London's Grosvenor House on Tuesday 3rd April as they announced their competitive price list for HIPs. The event was one of ten HIP HIP Hooray parties taking place across the country that provided agents with the opportunity to ask questions and debate the issues ahead of the 1st June deadline.

HIP HIP Hooray's prices start at just £345. Here's the full list:

  0 to 2 Bedrooms 3 to 4 Bedrooms 5 to 7 Bedrooms
Freehold with Energy Assessment 345 375 395
Freehold with Home Condition Report 545 575 595
Leasehold with Energy Assessment 395 425 445
Leasehold with Home Condition Report 595 625 645

The well attended event included an interactive presentation from the Government's training adviser on HIPs, Lesley Sorridimi.

One of the key issues discussed was the challenge caused by charging for HIPs. Many agents expressed confusion about how HIPs could be charged for. Lesley talked through a number of different options, emphasising the need for each agency to find a way of pricing that fits their current business model. Lesley Sorridimi says:

"there are a multitude of options such as charging a direct HIP price to the vendor which may or may not be marked up depending on your own internal policy. Another option would be working the price into commission but obviously most agencies have very competitive rates at the moment anyway. There are also possibilities with deferred payments or finance agreements. Ultimately you need to consider what's going to work for your business and your customers. At HIP HIP Hooray we see our relationships with agents as partnerships and will provide support and advice in individual circumstances to make HIPs an asset to the business rather than a chore."

Following Lesley's appearance guests stayed for drinks and a chance to discuss the key points raised with leading industry figures such as Hugh Dunsmore-Hardy of the National Association of Registered Home Inspectors (NARHI) , Paul Broadhead, Deputy Director-General of AHIPP and head of HIP HIP Hooray, Allen Jackson. A bottle of champagne was awarded to the estate agent of the year James McAuley from Your Move.
