Wedding Invitation Help Guide

We hope these handy examples will help you when it comes to wording your invitations - If you would like any additional assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us - we'd love to hear from you!

General Invitation Tips

  • Ladies first - The Bride’s name traditionally comes before the Groom’s, but it's your big day so don't be afraid to break tradition if you prefer it the other way...
  • Punctuation – Only use capital letters for the first letter of the first word as well as names, dates and titles. Words such as / on / at / to / and / request / invite / followed by, etc. should always be written without capitals. Full stops are not usually used and commas are optional but generally only used as part of addresses if necessary, or dates and times.
  • Who’s hosting? This will likely have an impact on how your invitations are worded. See our handy templates for more information.
  • RSVP – Traditionally, RSVPs are sent back to the host/s of the wedding. However it can be more convenient if they're sent to the wedding planner, the Bride and Groom or their parents.
